What to expect
The Melbourne 2008 Pregnancy Babies & Children's Expo was attended by over 40,000 enthusiastic visitors over the 3 days. This included parents and parents-to-be, grandparents, carers and of course, babies and children.

With more room to move this year including extra wide aisles the feedback from the Expo was extremely positive.

2009 will see the Expo continue to provide the same levels of comfort whilst endeavouring to improve the visitor experience wherever possible.

Look out for a new feature - our Expo Guide. This will assist you in planning your visit and help you get the most out of the event. It will be available on the website prior to the event and copies will be handed out to our guests as they arrive at the Expo.

More than 200 individual exhibitors took part in the 2008 Expo and indications are that 2009 will be bigger than ever. Here is what the Australian Breastfeeding Association had to say about our Expo in 2008:

We had our biggest Expo EVER in Melbourne last weekend and it just wouldn’t be possible for us to be there without your organisation’s support. We have had so much positive feedback from mums about us being at the Expo, many of them are quite relieved to get some help with their breastfeeding questions. And we took heaps of bookings from pregnant mums for our breastfeeding education classes.

We are looking forward to 2009 and as always will be endeavouring to find ways to improve the Expo experience.

In the meantime here is an example of what our visitors had to say about the 2008 Melbourne Expo:

What our visitors had to say:

We have seen lots of products that you wouldn’t normally see. We definitely recommend to family and friends – check it out – it is worth it!

Kids loved the animals; we saw the Dorothy Show and really enjoyed that. We’ve got 2 little babies so we know all about some of the products but there is so much more on the market. Just a fantastic place to come and spend some time to see what’s out there, what’s new and available.

Everything is so different to when I had my babies 35 years ago, so you are still going to learn, definitely worth coming along to.

Really informative, good to see everything in the one spot. The kids can play and then you can look then they play again and you can continue looking! It’s been really good.

I have been to the expo 3 times in the last 4 years and find it fantastic. I am the mother of 3 young boys and each time I find something new and different that makes our life easier. I also enjoy seeing what new products some of my favourite brands are bringing out. I find that the expo is the one opportunity to have children related products and services in the one place. I usually walk away from the expo with more knowledge of how to raise my children healthy and happy (while also keeping me happy).

About the Melbourne Exhibition Centre
The MEC is Melbourne’s world class Exhibition Centre and is situated on the banks of the Yarra River in Southbank. The facilities are unmatched in Victoria.

As big as our Expo is, it still only takes up about a third of the venue which often means there will be a number of other shows on at the same time. This means that the parking facilities can be very busy. Once inside the centre please check the signage and monitors for the Expo information.

The venue is fully air conditioned, and facilities are both modern and clean.

How to Get there
The main car park is located under the Exhibition Centre with access off Normanby Rd. For more detailed parking and public transport details click here.
